Giulia Piscitelli (1965)
Unter den Linden è stato realizzato nel 2008 grazie al sostegno della 5ª Biennale di Berlino e del Museo Riso di Palermo. Il suo titolo, che tradotto significa “sotto i tigli”, riprende il nome del viale che a Berlino conduce sino alla Porta di Brandeburgo; da Est verso Ovest, fino alla soglia del Muro che era posto appena oltre.
È girando per queste strade che Piscitelli raccoglie i due accadimenti alla base del video: un maschio di germano reale (un’anatra) in bilico su una zampa, con forse l’altra rotta o ritratta, e uno scambio di battute tra un signore ubriaco e un gruppo di giovani irridenti, in Alexanderplatz.
Unter den Linden was realized in 2008 thanks to the support of the 5th Berlin Biennale and the Palermo Riso Museum. Its title, which translated means ‘under the lindens’, takes the name of the Berlin avenue that leads to Brandenburg Gate; from East to West, as far as the threshold of the Wall which was situated just beyond.
And it was here, passing through these streets, that Piscitelli came across the two incidents which are the basis for the video: a male mallard (a duck) balancing on one leg, with the other maybe broken or drawn up, and an exchange between a drunken man and a group of derisive youths making fun of him, in Alexanderplatz.
