This year, the twelfth edition of Palinsesti - Festival of Contemporary Art carries on its research activity and boasts a rich program of expositions and events.
The exhibition Mirabilium Archiva is put on display in the spaces of the Castello (the ancient castle of San Vito): a collective expositive project aimed at investigating the relationship among questions of contemporary art, archival research and the natural world. A performance by the artist Michele Tajariol will also take place on the top floor of the castle on certain dates of the expositive schedule: the performance is the first act of a trilogy dedicated to the theme of the double and to the relationship between drawing and the real world.
The appointment of the ninth edition of the Premio In Sesto award is again renewed in the Antiche Carceri (the old prison of San Vito). This year its renovated international formula is also confirmed, with the involvement of European regions that are twins to the town of San Vito al Tagliamento. In addition to this, a solo exhibition by Ida Blažičko, winner of the Premio In Sesto 2016, is put on display in Pordenone at the Fondazione Furlan.
Finally, Essiccatoio Bozzoli (a historic textile drying room in San Vito) hosts a solo exhibition by Elio Caredda, who takes part in the collection Punto Fermo. This exhibition confirms Palinsesti’s purpose to carry on its annual deepening work on the research of contemporary art in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
