Palinsesti 2016

This year the small town of San Vito al Tagliamento hosts the twenty-fifth edition of the contemporary art exhibition which takes place in its territory, where the heritage of its historic sites and the most recent research in the artistic field coexist in a long-established tradition.
2016 also marks the 40th anniversary of the tragic earthquake which occurred in 1976 and, for the occasion, Palazzo Altan displays a group exhibition called Fracturae: a reflection on the theme of disaster and on the brave strategies that are necessary to overcome crisis.
The award Premio in Sesto, hosted in the Antiche Carceri (the town’s ancient jails), reaches its eighth edition and confirms its renovated international formula. In addition, a solo exhibit of works by Michele Spanghero, winner of Premio in Sesto 2015, is arranged at Fondazione Furlan in Pordenone.
A project by the international group Time’s Up is on display in the Castello: Mind the Map is an investigation into the highly topical subject of mass migration.
Finally, the solo exhibition by Giorgio Valvassori at Essiccatoio Bozzoli explores the artist’s work already present in the collection Punto Fermo. This initiative has been extended to the public spaces of San Vito thanks to the permanent installation of Valvassori’s works in different places throughout the town.
